1. FLCL (Fooly Cooly)
To me it's the name that gets me. Fooly Cooly. What does that even mean? The entire series focuses on Naota, a 12-year-old working class boy. On a perfectly normal day, a girl, Haruka, runs him over with her vespa, gives him CPR then proceeds to bash him over the head with her left-handed bass guitar. Haruka turns out to be a Galactic Space Police Brotherhood member and is in search of the Pirate King.
2. Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo
Fighting nose hairs. Monkeys with ringing telephones on their heads. A talking man made out of jelly. Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo speaks to us on a spiritual level.
3. Masuda Kousuke Gekijou Gag Manga Biyori
Gag Manga Biyori is such a bloody weird comedy that for years it presented too large of a challenge for fansubbers. The whole thing is full of so many Japanese cultural references.
4. Sekko Boys
As if themed idol groups couldn't get any stranger, a team of actual Greco-Roman busts, sings, poses, and are carted through weird drama of the idol world in Sekko Boys.
